Young Staten Island cancer survivor feted by NYPD 

It’s a whirlwind weekend for little Nathan Norman of Rustburg, Va.

Back in December, the 6-year-old cancer survivor had a simple wish — to receive Christmas cards from New York police, fire and EMS personnel.

That was easy to pull off, according to Staten Islander Frank Chiaramonte, who two years ago met Nathan when he himself was undergoing chemotherapy treatment for Stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

“I always kept in touch with Nathan’s parents and they told me what his wish was. At that moment [in] time I called my cousin — who is a cancer survivor — and New York City paramedic. I told him Nathan’s story and he said, ‘Cuz, whatever you want to do I’m with you 100 percent.’¤”
